Moody Gardens Gardens IMAX® 3D Theater, One Hope Blvd. IMAX SPACE STATION is the first cinematic journey to the International Space Station - where audiences can experience for themselves life in zero gravity aboard the new space station. The audience blasts off into space with the astronauts and cosmonauts from Florida's Kennedy Space Center and Russia's Baikonur Cosmodrome to rendezvous with their new home in orbit 220 miles above Earth. Space Station is the story of this unique partnership of 16 nations building a laboratory in outer space, a permanent facility for the study of the effects of long-duration exposure to zero gravity, and the necessary first step towards the global, cooperative effort needed if we are to go to Mars someday.

Moody Gardens Gardens IMAX® 3D Theater, One Hope Blvd. This story begins when Johnny, a young-up-and-coming musician, is summoned to his mother's castle, where she spent her final days before she died. He feels this is a strange request, since his mother had not seen him since he was three years old. However, he decides to go in accordance with her final wishes. Johnny soon finds things are as not as they appear. Showing at 8:10 P.M.

July 1-31 – "Sea Trek" Ridefilm
Moody Gardens, One Hope Blvd. The Ridefilm Theatre has a 180-degree wrap-around screen and seats that move with action. In this animated underwater adventure, thrill-seekers are invited to tour Base 7, but before the tour gets underway thiere is a warning of a deep sea pirate roaming the area. The audience feels every move, shake and vibration as their tour turns into a rescue mission to destroy the pirate's Black Shark submarine and save Base 7 and its occupants. July 4 – Fourth of July Fireworks Display
37th & Seawall Blvd. Enjoy the annual fireworks display that lights up the Gulf in celebration of the 4th, sponsored by the Galveston Park Board of Trustees. Fireworks begin at 9:15 p.m. and feature a 25-minute show. Call (888) 425-4753 or visit www.galveston.com.

July 6 – Galveston Artwalk
Galveston Arts Center. Galveston Island's visual arts continue to flourish. Approximately every six weeks, the art galleries join together to host ArtWalk, an evening of openings and receptions of new works by local artists and national touring exhibitions. The evening is a wonderful night out for art lovers from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.. Free.

July 6-31 – Voyage to Prehistoric Island
Moody Gardens Convention Center, One Hope Boulevard. Explore a world of giant land and sea creatures that time has forgotten Get petrified by life-like replicas of the Dunkleosteus, a heavily armored shark-like creature; the Andrewsarchus, a relative of the wolf and the Basilosaurus an extinct whale measuring over 65 feet long. See these along with 20 other robotic prehistoric sea creatures, mammals and reptiles. Admission is $4.95 per person.

July 7 – Ocean Potion and Sun & Skin Care Products Presents the 2002 Gulf Coast Volleyball Association Tournament
Stewart Beach, "Ocean Potion Red White & VB" 9:30am, $5.00 parking fee at Stewart Beach. Stewart Beach has 20 permanent sand volleyball courts, Indoor/Outdoor showers, lifeguards, first aid, and concessions. Stewart Beach is a non-alcohol beach.

July 8-20 – Galveston Outdoor Musicals Presents Over Here
Outdoor Musicals Amphitheater, 14528 Stewart Road. A train ride into the 1940's wartime America and features an entire slate of big band swing musical numbers. The big band will be placed right on stage and will be part of the action. This show is the show that launched John Travolta's Broadway career in 1964. Plenty of dance and fun entertaining. This new George and Ira Gershwin extravaganza is filled with song and dance and hilarious dialogue. You will be swept up in this artfully constructed tale of boy meeting girl in this Wild West, where they spread goodness and ultimately fall in love. Songs include Bidin' My Time, Someone to Watch Over Me, Embraceable You, I Got Rhythm, Nice Work if You Can Get It and many more.
